Sprinkler and irrigation repair in Middleburg and Northeast Florida.

A geyser in the front yard, a zone that never comes on, a water bill that doubled. Colby finds the fault, quotes the fix, and often has it running before he leaves.

Irrigation repair is most of what MacGregor Sprinkler does, and almost all of it is on systems somebody else installed. Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro, Orbit, the old Richdel valves in a 1990s Orange Park subdivision, it all gets serviced. The job starts with running every zone and watching, because the symptom you called about is usually not where the problem lives.

What this covers

  • Heads, risers and nozzles

Snapped risers and mower-struck heads replaced and set to grade; nozzles matched so a zone does not overwater one corner to reach another.

  • Zones that will not run

Solenoids, diaphragms and valve bodies tested and replaced; buried valves located when nobody knows where the box went.

  • Wiring faults

Cut, corroded or chewed wire traced and spliced with waterproof connectors, not tape in the dirt.

  • Mainline and lateral leaks

Wet spots, sinking sod and spinning meters traced to the break and repaired with proper couplings, then pressure-checked.

  • Controllers and sensors

Dead controllers replaced or upgraded to a smart controller; rain sensors that have been stuck for years made to work again.

  • Coverage and pressure

Heads adjusted, nozzles swapped and zones split where pressure is too low to throw the distance the layout assumes.

Broken heads and geysers

The most common call. A rotor or spray head snapped by the mower, a riser cracked by a tire, or a nozzle that has simply worn out. The fix is quick, but the head that is left is set to grade and matched to the rest of the zone so it does not become next month’s call.

A zone that will not come on

Nine times in ten this is the valve: a failed solenoid, a torn diaphragm, or a wire that a shovel or a rodent found. Colby checks the controller output, then the wire, then the valve itself, in that order, so you are not paying for a new valve when the fault was a nick in the wire.

Leaks, wet spots and water bills

A mainline is under pressure around the clock, so a small crack runs all day even when the system is off. Signs are a soft, sunken patch of lawn, a meter that turns with everything off, or a zone that runs weak at the far end. Leaks are located, dug, repaired and pressure-tested before the ground is closed.

Questions about sprinkler & irrigation repair

How fast can you get here?

Colby answers within the hour and gives a firm date when he does. Emergencies, a mainline you cannot shut off, water running into the house, are handled after hours as well.

Can you fix it the same day?

Often. Common heads, nozzles, valves, solenoids, fittings and wire for residential systems are usually on the truck. Unusual parts get ordered and the return visit is scheduled before he leaves.

Do I need to know where my valves are?

No. Valve boxes get buried under sod and mulch all the time. They can be located electronically or by tracing the wire from the controller.

Will you look at the rest of the system while you’re there?

Every zone gets run before and after the repair, so anything else that is obviously wrong gets pointed out. Whether to fix it is your call, and it gets its own line on the quote.
